About the event:

As you may know, nearly 75% of all Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients are women. When faced with this shocking diagnosis, many women and their families face physical, informational, emotional, and financial crises.  In order to better educate and galvanize our community against MS, we are pleased to host the 7th Annual Women Against MS Luncheon.

The Women Against MS (WAMS) Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. Guests will share the joys of a fine lunch while watching an inspirational program emceed by Tara Hitchcock formerly with "Good Morning Arizona", and featuring keynote speaker Kate Milliken. A local neurologist will also be providing us with an update on MS Research

Speaker
Kate Milliken is a film and television producer and the founder of Milligrace Productions, a company specializing in twelve-to-fifteen-minute personal documentaries for private, non-profit and corporate clients. Milliken has worked in television for more than fifteen years, beginning as a correspondent for a college cable company focused on reality- based TV, then moving on to cover the world of alternative sports such as snowboarding, mountain biking, and monster trucks for the Outdoor Life Network, Oxygen, Fox Sports Net, TNT, and TNN. She has also been a producer for ABC’s The View and for VH-1.  In December 2006, she was diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS which created the opportunity to work with the National MS Society.  She produced the We Keep Moving video series (wekeepmoving.org) and continues to work as an on camera host with MS Learn Online and the National MS Society website. Her own story of her journey with MS can be found on katescounterpane.com.  Kate currently resides with her husband and new son in Scottsdale.
